Bilingualism Matters opened in Nantes, France, in March 2015 as part of the EU funded AThEME project .

Branch aims

  • Promote understanding about multilingualism based on scientific evidence, including AThEME results – e.g., by organising through talks, seminars and workshops and by providing up-to-date information and advice on our website and printed materials
  • Help and support families of bilingual children – e.g., by providing accurate information and by facilitating access to second language courses or opportunities to maintain their home/ regional language

    Prof. Hamida Demirdache

    Branch Director; Professor of Linguistics

    Hamida Demirdache is Professor of Lingustics at the University of Nantes and Director of the Nantes Linguistics Lab. She is joint work package leader on "heritage languages" on the EU funded AThEME project.
